VOLUNTEER SUPPORT

VOLUNTEER CHAIRS: Mark Daughaday and Frank Bolen

Volunteer Support is a vital part for a successful display of the Wall. Volunteering is a valued part of the The Wall That Heals expwrience, a rewarding way for members of our community to be engaged, show their support and honor those who served.

TWTH AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEERS -These volunteers are needed to provide a friendly face and ensure that each visitor feels welcome to The Wall That Heals. These volunteers will greet and assist visitors 24 a day working in 4 hours shifts. At least 6 - 8 will be needed for each shift. The Wall will be open from 4PM Wednesday 3 Oct to 4PM Sunday 6 Oct.Each volunteer will be provided a T shirt and badge ientifying them as a Ambassador. Mandatory training for ALL volunteers will be Wednesday at 6PM.

TWTH SCHOOL TOUR VOLUNTEERS -These volunteers will assist will school visits to the Wall. This shift will be during the school day on Thursday 3 Oct and Friday 4 Oct from 8pm to 4pm. There will be 10 volunteers per 4 hour shift. Their primary responsibility will be school tours and backup to Ambassadors. There will be professional guides from The Wall That Heals staff but with large numbers of students in each tour group you should be available to answer general questions, assist with rubbings, and finding names on Wall.

TWTH OVERNIGHT VOLUNTEERS -The Wall is open 24 hours, so volunteers are needed overnight to greet late night visitors and to stand watch for the Wall. Although not a requirement we would like to see veterans especially Vietnam Veterans stand watch at the Wall overnight. This is not security but respect for those enscribed on the Wall, Missing in Action, and those In Memory. You will also greet late night visitors most probably Vietnam Veterans.

TWTH SETUP AND BREAKDOWN VOLUNTEERS -Volunteers will unload and help assemble the Wall and Mobile Education Center. This requires 25/30 able-bodied volunteers. It requires at least 5 to 6 hours to assemble and take down.
